About the event
Itty Bitty Kitten Rescue is excited to partner with Mirror Twin Brewing for a morning of kittens and yoga! Please join us - and some of our purrfect kittens - at Mirror Twin's Cocktail Lounge (next to their main building) as we stretch our way through a pawesome slow flow yoga class with Allie Malis.
New to yoga? Don't worry, this class is suitable for yogis of any experience level! You just bring a yoga mat and we'll bring the kittens! We've recruited our furriest and purriest kittens to act as helpers while you enjoy yoga. Having trouble finding your cat/cow poses? Let our kittens show you how its done!
Stick around after class for a delicious drink and a bite to eat at Mirror Twin's partner - Rolling Oven Pizzeria - for some post yoga fuel. Food not included in ticket pricing.
Space is limited, so get your ticket before we sell out! We look forward to seeing you there!
About Allie Malis:
Allie's approach to teaching is alignment-focused and breath-oriented. Creative sequencing and flowing transitions make practicing yoga fun, but modifications/variations are always an option. In class, you are encouraged to tune into the subtle cues that your body is giving you. Allie believes in the importance of adapting the practice to YOUR body (not your body to the practice!) and learning how to find movements and postures that feel good to you.
When Allie is not in yoga pants (which is not often!) you can find her camping, hiking, and rock climbing in the Red River Gorge (okay, she might still be in yoga pants…) She loves to travel anywhere and everywhere – from U.S. National Parks to the far reaches of the globe. Wherever she goes, she is always on the hunt for the best vegan eats. In her virtual yoga classes, you may see a cameo from her furry four-legged assistant, Piper, or catch a few foster kittens climbing up her tree pose. Allie is a flight attendant for a major airline and proudly represents her flight attendant union on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
You can also catch Allie Thursdays at 6pm at Lexington’s rock climbing gym, LEF. Yoga classes are free for LEF members and $10 for non-members. She also offers a virtual yoga class on Monday evenings at 6pm through Transitions Yoga Studio. Allie leads international yoga retreats for beginners (join her Belize this December) and also offers private and group sessions.
